The success of the internet has made some dramatic changes in the way scientists and students are supplied with scientific literature. It has started to change into an information market, where the value of a piece of information is determined by the law of supply and demand. The customer in this market is unable to find providers delivering the desired piece of information under the his/her conditions for a fair price. The UniCats trader to offer a solution to this problem in the open, distributed, and heterogeneous environment of the information market. This solution includes the cooperation of several traders joined in a trader federation.
